Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!
Hello, my name is Amy Barr and I currently teach freshmen and senior English at Morris Community High School. I also teach behind-the-wheel during the summer. This is the first year I have not coached a sport at Morris, but I am the Interact sponsor and an Honorary member of the Morris Rotary Club. I graduated from Morris with the Class of 1998 before attending Eastern Illinois University on a softball scholarship. In 2003, I graduated with a B.A. in English. I taught one year at Champaign Central High School where I was the head softball coach as well. Then I returned to Morris, working as a Title I Reading Specialist Aide at Saratoga. In 2005, I returned to MCHS. I have taught freshmen and seniors for the past seven years. Since my return, I have coached girl's basketball, volleyball, and softball. I also received a M.S. in Education from the University of St. Francis this past summer. I will begin my second master's for Reading Specialist certification in January 2012. Outside of school, I love sports, reading, movies, music, and cooking. However, the most important thing in my life is my family. My fiance and I have one son, Kellen, and we are expecting a second son in Febrauary of 2012.
