Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!
Hello and welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. I am so very excited to be back at Morris for my 15th year of teaching at MCHS and my 17th year overall. For the upcoming school year I will be teaching English 1, reading, creative writing, and summer driver education. In addition to teaching, I am coaching JV volleyball, varsity basketball, and varsity softball.
As for my educational background, I am a proud MCHS alum. I graduated from Morris with the Class of 1998 before attending Eastern Illinois University on a softball scholarship. In 2003, I graduated with a B.A. in English with a teaching endorsement and a minor in driver education. I started my teaching career at Champaign Central High School where I was the head softball coach as well. Then I returned to Morris, working as a Title I Reading Specialist Aide at Saratoga for one year. In 2005, I returned to MCHS. I have taught freshmen and seniors for the past ten years. In January 2012, I earned a M.S. in Education from the University of St. Francis. I followed that up with a M.S. as a Reading Specialist in 2014 at the University of St. Francis.
Outside of school, I love sports, reading, movies, music, and cooking. I faithfully follow the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks. However, the most important thing in my life is my family.
